LINA (Lina Loi) is an International singer/songwriter recording artist signed to Atlantic Record In 2001 creating one of the most unique eclectic jazz records of all time incorporating swing and R&B and taking the UK by storm. Critics praised the disc's bold theme, a syncopation of music past and present: with its combination of classic and modern sounds.
Lina is a critically acclaimed American R&B and soul singer and songwriter. She was raised in Texas where her introduction to music started at the age of four when she began singing at church. After cultivating her gospel and jazz roots touring and performing with her mother, Lina was signed to Atlantic Records and immediately began her International tour with her debut album “Stranger On Earth”. Influenced by singers from Josephine Baker to Sarah Vaughan to Sade, Lina began developing a signature vocal style that could be described as a mixture of swing, r&b, and jazz meets modern day soul.
Lina had her first success in 1998, when L.A.-based Tyrese recorded one of her songs for his self-titled debut. Since then, her songs have been recorded and placed on forthcoming albums, as well as in films such as HBO's "Disappearing Acts" (2001) and Fox Picture's blockbuster hit "High Crimes" (2002), Lina returned with her sophomore album, “The Inner Beauty Movement” released on Hidden Beach/Moodstar/Sony in 2005 and produced such hits as "Smooth", the steppers anthem and "Leaving You." With rave reviews from UK’s The Sunday Times and Vibe Magazine, The Inner Beauty Movement showed Lina’s fans that she was committed to creating consistently good music. “Morning Star” was released in 2008 on Lina’s label, Moodstar Recordings and critics were raving about it! Lina has landed many vocal features such as Guess Who starring Ashton Kutcher, High Crimes starring Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd, Eddie Murphy's (Sony Pictures) Pluto Nash and "This Christmas (2007) Sony pictures starring Idris Elba and Chris Brown where Lina made a cameo performance singing “Santa Baby. She has shared the stage with many, such Brian McNight, Kem, Stevie Wonder, India Arie, Bilal, Dwele, Angie Stone, Maze and Frankie Beverly, The Whispers, Omarion, Mike Jones and Mario. Lina Is back with a stellar new live studio recording The Love Chronicles of A Lady Songbird" A Tribute to Soul. In September 2012, she released her fourth studio album The Love Chronicles of a Lady Songbird. In that same year, song "Said -N- Done" was featured in the urban farming documentary Urban Roots.In January 2013 Lina Signed with Monarchy Records a division of Spectra Records, "The Love Chronicles of a Lady Songbird" officially released on Monarchy Records. In October 2014 the Motown inspired Ep the "Loveride" released on Soulside productions is currently making waves. The single "Dip" made UK's Soul Music Top 50 most played songs for 2014. Lina continues to give her fans the music and inspiration they love her for.
